RE: Acrylic Awning Leaking

Clay L this part dont make any sence and love to see any one do it??? Soap the open awning with this mixture, and then roll it up to soak for five minutes while you apply the mixture to the bottom of the awning. It does seem sort of impossible doeesn't it? I am not exactly sure what they meant but it's an exact copy because I did a cut and paste so it's not my typo. Depending how your awning rolls up the bottom or underside of the awning will roll over the top of the awning so the two surfaces will come in contact with each other. Then you just scrub the last little bit of the exposed bottom of the awning.

RE: Things left on the highway

The dump hoses get lost on the road because the the end caps on the rear bumper sometimes get lost while driving. Been there done that one time. Lost the end cap and saw the hose dragging behind me as I was making a turn, looked in the mirror and saw the blue tail wagging back there. :S

RE: Grey Water Fills in 3 Hours!

My guess is the valves are still set for winterizing. They need to be opened! That is, you are only filling the pipes and not the tank. When you empty next time see what comes out. Gray water should take 3-5 minutes to completely drain. You can hear it and see the hose wiggle. That sounds like it would make sense...how do I open them? I'm sorry but I don't think there is such a thing as a shut off valve on the actual water drains. There are shut offs for the water system coming into the water heater and incoming water lines from the fresh water tank, but none on the drain lines. Check the vents on the roof.

RE: Scissor Jacks

I use an 18v cordless also and works good. As stated above you may need to lube them up good to get them loose, however I don't think I would use a heavy grease as it could pick up a lot of road grim and make them even harder to work. Try using a silicone spray to lube them. I think that would pick up less grim in the threads. Also make sure that you lube the pivot points to as they will rust a little over time.

RE: Tow Mirrors for 2007 Tundra

Hi all, I have tow-n-see mirrors and I think they cost me $19 each. http://www.tow-n-see.com/index.htm Larry I don't have a Tundra but also use the tow-n-see mirrors on my Expy. They work good with little vibration and move with the OEM mirror when you adjust them. Worth it.

RE: Slideout Question

I have a set that I used for one season hoping that it would help with the shakes that we had in our trailer, it didn't. If the trailer needed them to support the slide then the manufacture would have provided them I believe.

RE: Fold out step rugs

Camping World has them that wrap around the step and are held in place with springs on the underside of the steps. We're on our fourth season with ours. We have these on our TT as well as on previous TT. Wash them off each time I wash the TT. These are the same ones that we have. Had them for 6 or 7 years on our other trailer and moved them to this one we are in now. Been on this trailer for the past 4 years. Just had to repair the springs though because they rusted off.

RE: Level Fridge on Electric

The more level the better and the manual for my Dometic states that side to side is more important than front to back. (sorry Scott, I dont mean to argue with ya) Keep in mind that out of level damage is cumulative so you may not notice diminished performance until your someplace hot. Just wondering, are you talking side to side as in the trailer or the fridge and front to back in the fridge or trailer? Wondering because they are both different things in relation to how they are set up!!!

RE: No equipment

We are brand new to rving (without an rv)!.My husband and I are driving up the east coast this summer and due to high gas prices, we will not be able to afford hotel lodging. We camped when we were younger and love state parks.Question? Can we use our toyota sienna van as our (camper?) We have chosen 2 state parks to stay at First landings in Virginia Beach area and wompatuck near Boston. These could serve as our home base while we see the sights. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Just a suggestion, you may want to check out the tent camping section of the forum. There was a post there just the other day about camping in your vehicle with a lot of good suggestions about it. Good luck and have fun.

RE: michigan fishing

What kind of fishing are you looking to do? Saginaw Bay is good for Walleye, Bass, Perch, and Salmon, as well as others, but most charters specialize on a certain species of fish. For example, there are a couple of charters out of the Port Austin area that go out only for perch, and some that only go out for salmon. The type of fishing you want to do will help you decide which area you're going to, and then we can find you a nice campground (those are all over).what I would like to do, since we will only have 4 or 5 days is go for perch a couple of days and walleye for the same amt. of time. the one I am looking at for perch right now is browns landing and miss charity isle charter boat are you familiar with this one ? Stayed there several years ago. The campground is fairly small but was pretty quiet. It is right on the lake front. When we stayed there they would take cash only for the campground. The charter boat is a pretty sturdy vessel and the captain did a good job getting us into the perch. At the time we went we were pulling in a lot of 8"-12" perch. Again I know that the fishing has changed a lot up there since we've been there, however I've heard it has been picking back up again. Make reservations early!!! Good luck and have fun.

If my memory is correct, I was also told that MJ affects your memory too.:W:B It does, but that's not my problem. Just getting old is affecting my memory. I knew that.:B I took a drug test once and I passed it with flying colors, I knew every one of them, I think!! :h

RE: Scotts tissue?

Any single ply paper will work well as stated above. It breaks down better that the fluffy stuff.

RE: WATER LEAK IN 2004 DUTCH STAR

If you have an icemaker, I would check that line, valve and connections. Sometime the icemaker hookup is under the sink. Good luck. As stated above, if it only leaks when the water faucet is turned on then that takes the water lines out of the picture even if it does have an ice maker because the lines will always have pressure on them. That only leaves the faucet.

RE: Statistics showing why gas price is not a big deal

Sure didn't take long for everyone to get their panties in a bunch did it? Like what was posted before, it is what it is so you better learn to live with it or be miserable the rest of your life!!! It's to short so enjoy it while you still can. One day you'll look back and think "Why didn't I do so and so when I still could"? Peace and love and enjoy life!!!

RE: Extended rear view windows

You could also try the Tow-N-See mirrors. I've used them for the last 2 years with my 01 Expy and 32' TT and they work well. Very little vibration because they attach by suction to your factory mirror. I've seen them at most RV supply places or you could go to their web site.
